Hi there,

You've done pretty well in markstrat aye. We have to do the same thing for our course and I currently have no idea how to start. Was wondering if you can give me some pointers on my first decision? If you can, please email me at soul_g61@hotmail.com or just add me on msn messenger. Thanks

Ben

Ben, just two tips for you.. Apply game theory to predict your opponents moves (keep an eye on their R&D budgets every period). Use the equation Market share = share of mind x share of voice x share of distribution.. The higher you are in each of those portions, the higher your market share!

Hi there, thanks for your advice. But what is share of voice and share of mind? Sorry, im only 3rd year mart and not very familiar with those terms. I was wondering, for the first decision, is there nothing much I can do except buying all market info and increasing production? Thanks.

Share of voice = how much they can recall your product
Share of mind = how good is your product

Don't look for tips elsewhere. Make your own moves and learn from it. Else, the point of playing MarkStrat is lost!

Thanks for your tips. Well, its 30% of our course and if we end up 1st or 2nd in our world, then good grades. If we're the last few, then 'shit' grades. Was also wondering, is it wise to be a pioneer of the vodite market? Thanks
