Podworks is here..

The 2nd Annual Podcasting workshop (unconference style) is here. The Knowledge Foundation of Chennai is organizing this event on June 9th and 10th at the Tidel Park.
I've been a semi-serious blogger for about 2 years now, but I've never tried my hand at podcasting. Hopefully I'll be attending Podworks (unless I get pulled back into my work ) and arm myself with enough knowledge to take a shot at it.

Check out this Podworks video.

13-year old CEO?

You know how we always feel that younger is sometimes "smarter". I know that I sound like a 50 year old now.. but it is true. I have been observing this for a few years now, even while playing computer games against my nephews while visiting them at the Bay Area. I remember when they were about 8-9 year olds, I used to kick their butts even in new games that I hadn't played before, and they've been playing it for a while. When they were 9-10 years old, it wasn't that easy to beat them, even in games that that were new to both parties. In fact, I had to wake up early morning and practice a bit, so that I'd appear to nonchalantly beat them whenever I played them. Even then, they'd beat me a few times. One might argue that they're from a different generation, but I'd say that they're not too different from me. I've been playing computer/video games from when I was a kid, and I've been decent if not pretty good at them. So, that argument doesn't really hold water in this case.

So, why not a 13-year old entrepreneur?

Here's an article I read somewhere.. and I first couldn't believe it. I don't think I could talk the way he (Anshul Samar) does, out of a premiere B-school. Check out the link below.. and make sure you watch the video where the kid talks about his company's product.

Unnale Unnale

(picture from Wikipiedia)

After watching Mozhi, Mayakannadi and Unnale Unnale, the 3 big Tamil movies for the summer so far, I think I like Unnale the best. The songs were good and I liked the star cast. I really liked the 2nd heroine Tanisha in this movie. I think this is her first tamil movie and she's done a great job at it. Very bright, chirpy and energetic performance. Overall a very pleasant watch. The screen play was good in most places except for a 15-20 min span after the interval. It seemed like the director just wanted to add some fillers in the movie to make it the traditional 2hr 45 min Indian movie!

The surprised about the movie was the ending. Without spoiling anyone's movie watching experience, I'll say that finally a Tamil movie is taking a step towards being practical about love and relationships. And guessing by the turnout for the movie a month after its release, I think the average movie going audience is also maturing. Kudos to moving in the right direction.

EDIT : I just found out that Tanisha is actually Kajol's younger sister. She's definitely an upcoming star!

Dude! Where's my car?

Terribly confused about what car to buy! I'm looking for something in the 7 lakh - 9 lakh range. Cars in contention right now are the Ford Fiesta, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Mitsubishi Cedia. I know for sure that I don't want SUVs or mini vans. I don't need a diesel engine either. But, I'm open to other suggestions/feedback on any mid-sized cars.

Anyone any bright ideas?
